Hiller has not been the same since coming back. Damn you Letang.

Then again, Stars finally played a great game. There`s not much you can do as a goalie when Ribeiro and Morrow are coming at you 2on1/when Eriksson centers from behind the net right between the circles for Ryder. I feel for Ducks fans, this is going to be a tough year to swallow especially if Teemu retires.

The Bruins commentators are such shameless homers it's a bit embarrassing. If you`re referring to Bergeron`s evaluation, that`s actually true.

Otherwise I agree.

Philly scores with 18 sec. left. COL doesn't put the red light on even though the ref. signals goal, and they don't put it on the scoreboard, instead they play "We're not gonna take it". Lol. It's a goal, not a doubt.

I haven't watched too much Western hockey for the last month and a half because of the new job. My impression of the East is a great team in Boston, two very good teams in Rangers and Philly, and then varying degrees of "meh". I mean, from the Devils perspective, they're what, 6th, and their competition behind them (ignoring the Pens), is Florida, Toronto and Winnipeg. Florida is slowly sinking, Washington will take them sooner or later, Toronto is starting to slump their way to their usually finish, and you've seen Winnipeg the last two outings.

I just think the East is more "competitive" because there's so many mediocre and worse teams. I mean, the Rangers are good, but 116 point good? No way, that says something about the teams they're playing.

i'd argue west has more talent/competition but idk anymore. some teams i thought were elite werent (ducks)The problem is they weren`t elite. Not even last year. ;)

They`ve always had the same problems, not enough quality/maturity on defense, lack of bottom6 depth scoring, team defense in general. The difference was that their best players were their best players. They`ve been in a nutshell so far this year (Selanne`s been good) so all those deficiencies are being exposed.

But it is only a rivalry because they faced off in the playoffs the last 3 seasons. Pretty much a happenstance. They could easily not play each other the next 2 (likely anyways) seasons and that rivalry is gone anyways. A divisional playoffs means more likely of playoff repeat match-ups like Hawks-Canucks have been. Because when hasn't that franchise been inept at everything it does. Again it's a franchise that kept Doug MacLean employed for 7+ years... I've given up, it will never get better. That I disagree with. I'm not convinced Nash is a guy you build around. I think now is the perfect time to move on. The problem is getting what they should for him, which I have no faith in Howson to do.

Building around Ryan Johansen, Nail Yakupov, and Seth Jones(when they inevitably have the top pick next year too) has a lot of promise. They just need to get the right guy in place to build it. Howson is not that guy.
