It's interesting that HF couldn't turnover a GDT on night with a big win. When is the last time that's happened?
What, like get to a second thread?

Try a Markers Mark with a couple of ice cubes sipped slowly.
See the last time I took I drank Makers Mark I took a shot of it. I would much rather sip on a drink. I need to start trying stuff on a more classy level. I used to be a bartender so I should drink better since I know how to make things haha.
What, like get to a second thread?
Yeah. Last I checked they barely had 900 post. Pretty dead there.
Classy? Absinthe from an absinthe dispenser with the proper sugar sift.

We had 550, so they could have had two threads. It's probably for the best this way though. They keep their servers down. What I really enjoyed tonight was even though we were down 2-0, no one said forget it, lets go home. It was one point on each player and everyone moved on after acknowledging mistakes from the right people.

All the commercial absinthe is, is a samboka/snopps...but you can get goood absinthe

This is how you find your best friends. The ones that stay up all night in an honorable way are the keepers.
Heh, funny you say that because this kid is one of my best friends
From the very few types of whiskey I've had Jameson is my favorite. I just have this thing where I've had a lot of bad experiences with whiskey, but all of those involve shots.
I'm a big Jameson fan and I'm a big fan of JD as well, really are the kinds of whiskey I like so far
I learned my slow and steady with whiskey lesson in HS b/c I tried to be a tough guy by chugging a glass of JD....

I actually do remember that bar bill, because it was fucking insane haha. I don't know what it is but I can't take gin. Its smell and its taste. I think it has something to do with sitting in the kitchen bar with my face right next to the gin bottles. Gin has the most distinct smell and taste of any alcohol.
Oh and I love jager bombs.

How many people? That's just too much Jager, Jager should be one and done. I like it but one or two is as far as I'll go with that
It was 5/6 one retired early. And the Jagr shots were kind of random. I had seen a lot of friends that I hadn't seen in a while and we did shots with each of them.
We started at 7:30 they closed the bar at 2:00 and we left at 5:00 am and went fishing at 8:00am.
There were probably a dozen drinks that didn't make it to my bill.

lol, well then it makes more sense. there's stuff that I probably could sit down with a bottle and just drink it. probably without too many bad effects. Jager is not one of them.
alot of times I'll be at a party and I get into the vodka/rum and it frightens me how much ends up getting put away. even Sunday I went to my cousin's house to watch the Giants game, had to work in the morning, and I ended up putting away half a bottle of some Bacardi something or other. dumbass.
Scary thought is I'm going to see these guys again in a week.

There's a Batman thread for the new movie on page two. I want to talk about the movie and speculate, but I don't want to be spoiled, so I asked people to spoiler tag the discussion from the prologue from the Mission Impossible movie, because I don't want anything from the movie spoiled leading into July. Just want to enjoy the entire experience.
He's refusing and saying it's stupid because the prologue will be posted on the internet. I told him that I will avoid that as well, so stop being a tool. Without calling him a tool. I just told him that I'll ask for a different mod who will enforce the rules.
Bet I get an infraction for it.
They have way to many moderators on that site...every board has 5 or 6 and they all have a different tolerance level. Oh well. They don't seem to care either. I guess they believe they are bigger than the individual users of the site?

I would like to believe that if you live in Sweden for a while you will not say that government is evil.

PLENTY of rinks in this wonderful state. I would suggest to go to the Edison rink, It's an outdoor one and it's open late. They go 5-9 on wed to friday. If you go there wednesday night, there are not many people. It's a quite beautiful park, and the fresh cold air you get while skating...fantastic.

Yes. 15 minutes? Then go there! Best rink I've been to, they have one NHL-size rink and one Olympic size. If you can, go to their mid-day public skating session, you get the whole rink for yourself and maybe 3-4 other guys. Once I went there and there was nobody on ice so I asked if I could bring my stick and puck on and they said sure, so I had an hour of stick practice by myself, like I rented the thing.
I am near Middlebush. So I cross 27 then I'm on RT 1 in 5 minutes. My archery club is right there on Major road near the S. Brunswick water tower on Rt1 it takes me 10 minutes to get there with minimal traffic.

I think sometimes, if you don't like flying, at least to my extreme, the stayover makes it worse. At one point we were planning to go to Hawaii, with a stayover in either LV, LA or SF for a couple of nights, then I pretty much pussed out on it because of two flights each way with the stops. I'd probably be totally neurotic for those couple of days. It's almost better to just get it over with. Last time I was in Vegas, eons ago, we took a redeye home and I was just spazzy all day, it'd probably have been better to just stay the night in Vegas and get out ASAP in the morning.

Before my son was born I motorcycled through a great majority of the states east of the mighty Mississippi. I agree that the US is awesome because of its vast and diverse locations. My point is you can do this with a lot more ease if/when you and selyar have a family. My boy is 3 and we are trying for another but travel before he was born versus after is night and day. Go for the long haul, hard to reach places now before you guys start your family. Just my two cents.

My mom is terrified to fly. She was born and raise in Scotland and moved to the US in 1965. Most of her family is still there so she occasionally goes over. How does she do it? A SHITLOAD of valium. She is honest with her doctor, he gets her fear and loads her up with a prescription when she flies. Sometimes better living through chemistry is the way to go when dealing with a fear of flying.

Santa Fe kicks ***. I was absolutely mesmerized by Carlsbad Caverns. White Sands was pretty awesome, too. Next time I go back there, it will be with a fast car(and radar detector) and more time, so I can get between places quickly and spend more time at the spots I want to go to.

LOL, with me it's more of a claustrophobia/anticipation thing, so I'd need a pretty big course of valium. Also kinda worried I'd go the opposite way and be one of those nuts that strips themselves down and has to be subdued via club to the head.
The last couple of times I flew, my behavior was not good, including the time I lost it in San Juan and tried to go to the rental car desk.

It didn't bother me in the places around Denver and Colorado Springs, but there, you're already high up to begin with. Maui was brutal, though, it was really early in the morning, so no sleep, and you go from 0 to a little bit less than 10K in a few hours
Believe it or not but that picture is taken on July 5th....imagine how much snow is there now?!

Sandia Peak (in Albuquerque) is ~10,000. I had VERY noticeable altitude-related exhaustion and we only hiked ~1/2 mile up there. Walking around Albuquerque(6000ish) and Carlsbad(3000ish) we were fine. In White Sands (4000ish) we were definitely out of shape, but we were running up and sledding down the dunes. We were in pretty good shape hiking McKittrick Canyon(5000ish) in the Guadalupe Mountains, after walking through Carlsbad all morning, so I dunno. I figure I'm in good shape hiking up to ~6000'. 10,000' and I'll be lucky to get 2 miles in the day, haha

Most of Yellowstone is around 6500 with a few 10+ areas. Like I said I never have an issue but I would imagine if you stay hydrated and take it slow you can handle any of it. Stay hydrated!!!! Water every hour!

Though did anyone see the Game 6 from 2000? Good fucking god it's so glaring how putrid this game is today compared to back then. You had captains, in a deciding game, throwing down left and right. Players fighting it out for every inch of ice. Now? Look at guy wrong, box.
Oh and no odd geometrical shapes behind the goalies. Which funny enough they mentioned on last night's nationally broadcast game after Theodore mis-judged a puck coming to him behind the net, "There's 60 goalies in the NHL, if you polled them it'd be 60-0 to outlaw that thing" They should've added the footnote, "but they'll just wait til Marty retires instead"

That stuff is fine, the away from the puck carrier crap is one thing - but to see the guys with the puck fight through some of the **** they did in that game, and then get off AMAZING chances is mindblowing just a few short years after the lockout.
It's going to be like how when I was growing up, looking at tape from the 70s and early 80s and all that goonery, "Wow, it was just boxing on ice!!" , my kid will someday look at the era I grew up in and say, 'Yeah hockey players were pretty much running backs on ice". With all this talk of removing fighting, cutting down on hits, I fear our game is going to just devolve into Icecapades with sticks.

I think the game is somewhat at a crossroads today. They are trying to figure out the right balance of hitting/toughness/fighting while making sure the game has as much skill and room for skill players as possible. I agree this game is a little watered down now but I am HOPING it is merely a transition to a more dynamic type of game in a few years. Time will tell as always.

There's a happy medium, skill and toughness, we're at the point now where we are coddling skill and turning a shoulder to toughness and raw power. When I see some of the hooking or slashing or holding or interference calls today, just look at a game from the 90's and you'd see that about 27 seconds of that game would be played at even strength. More disturbing though are some of the younger players' mentality when it comes to hitting. Clean hits are being met with gloves thrown down and cheap shots. What the ****. Take your licks like a man, if a player gets rocked, remember the number and line that guy up next shift. Don't be a ***** and sucker punch him as he's coming off a clean check.
Unfortunately with the path this game has taken, I don't see the keel returning to those days, we're just going to keep tipping in that direction.

Tomorrow is going to be a long day with a presentation, a final, and then a long drive back to NJ.

The exam is in my senior design class. It is the dumbest fucking thing that we have assignments and exams in this class. My professor that I had a presentation for earlier asked us if we had anything left and we told him we had an exam in senior design later. He looked at us with a face that just said "really, why would you have an exam in that class", which is exactly how we feel. I'm just going to wing it and hope for the best. It is only worth 10% of the grade so it won't really kill me. Worst comes to worst I just run to the front of the classroom and stab both of the professors in the eye with a pencil.

The dumbest questions are on the exam. I can't even explain it. The required us to buy this book about going through a design process and they are literally teaching straight out of the book. They don't even care if the design process in the book applies to your project. Everyone fucking hates how the class is being run. It is the first time they are doing it this way because people were complaining in the past about not finishing their projects and they wouldn't take the blame for themselves.

You would think it is that easy, but they have us using all these different types of charts and ranking systems. Like I said, it is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever seen. My group has talked to our mentors about how stupid it is to do these assignments and how the exams are ridiculous, they pretty much agree. They have been around the school for a really long time and both of them are geniuses. I get it is important to use if you are going through a whole design project, but it is a huge waste of time when we only have a limited amount of time to work on our projects. Also, giving us exams on them for fake projects that they make up? How the **** am I supposed to know how something I have no prior knowledge about works off the top of my head in the middle of an exam. No, I'm not kidding, we were asked to do a functions-means tree for a thing that brews tea. I don't know how they can expect anything less than bullshit answers when they ask things like that.
i also don't know how you study for that. as long as you know how to make the chart, just make **** up.
so my company has all of these procedures for how to do things, how to write/check/issue a calculation, how to write a specification, ... etc. and they train us on them all the time when they issue new revisions (aka someone moves the punctuation around)
now we just got a notice in our email
"it is our policy that all personnel shall comply with company procedures"

He said, sit down for a while and figure it out.
Sounds like a good plan....off to contemplate.
Those waves sound bit angry must be the Atlantic because the Gulfs waves are usually a gentle sweet kiss. I guess when the sun comes up I'll know for sure.
