HAHAHA! WOW, Anaheim is fucking desperate

Well, that's a wheelbarrow full of drunk, wait, what, I mean junk. Devils take on around $800K NHL payroll. Foster should fit right in.

Wait wait, D Kurtis Foster? The kid who broke his leg in MIN? I love that guy. More skill on the back end. Hard to give up that 7th rounder though.

Yep, him, offensive defenseman, perpetual minus player.

On perpetual minus teams. That accounts for something. He's probably on par with Stralman though

Liking this move especially if he can still bring it with that slap shot. Obviously not the number one PPQB we needed, though.

Devilsfanatic
12-12-2011, 15:08
Wouldn't get a #1 PPQB with that package anyway  Foster is a guy I wanted after that big year in TB last season. At least Fraser won't take us to arbitration anymore.

I'm sure HF will be very excited to know that the reason for our ills the past two years has now been traded.

LOL! smh for guys who hardly ever play.

If they're having a "gif party" LMAO.

Honestly I was kinda hoping Fraser would play tonight. lol.

Pielmeier is like a mangled version of Palmieri.

Or bumping the Lou appreciation thread like they did when PL3 got traded.

They might try and take Kovalchuk off the point now.

Larsson-Foster

Taormina-Greene

HAHA, right....

the funny part is the Ducks fans thinking they did something spectacular. They got two guys they can't use, one of which will see to it that he's on the 50 man next year by arbitrating.

Typical HF. "We dumped salary." No you didn't, they're 1 way deals, you want to pay them $1.2M to play in the minors, knock yourself out

Oh yeah, this frees up a slot on the 50 man roster as well. Right? Or is Captain Germany on it?

No, he's in NA, he's signed.

I don't know what to think about this. It seems like a pretty nothing trade. Could Foster realistically help our PP?

Foster - Oates worked pretty good in Tampa, let`s hope we can benefit from this trade. We didn`t lose anything.

I really dunno why they took the goalie unless the Ducks are rubbing up on the limit too. The true value in getting rid of them is opening a reserve spot.

They're going to have a hard time getting the goalie ice-time too. That's what makes it silly

We will find out short enough. I think the Greene injury really accelerated this. They clearly don't think Taormina is the solution.

Well, the two bombers on the point didn't work with Kovalchuk and Rolston, lets hope it works the 2nd time around.

Still think we need a distributor, but this can't hurt to try it out for the time being.

Patty should be/is the distributor on the PP

Maybe they'll move Kovalchuk down to the boards when Greene gets back.

I like it..seems very low risk high reward. If it works great if not who cares. We gave nothing.

This.

We gave up two players that passed threw waivers unclaimed and a 7th round pick for a guy that might jumpstart our PP. If he doesn't, we lost a 7th round pick... big deal.

Wow he's a big dude:

"Lamoriello believes the 6-foot-5, 226-pound Carp, Ontario native can help the Devilsí struggling power play with his right-handed shot on the point."

Makes me realize what an awfully fat **** I've become - he's got 3 inches on me and I've got 25 pounds on him. FFS.

I like the move though - something useful for essentially nothing. If Foster can help turn our PP from 1 of 50 to 1 of 40 it'll be worth it. :D

Lou seems to think they'll get some playing time with Anaheim, I hope so - I like Pelley's grit and he's a great guy off the ice (met him a few times one is definitely one of the more personable Devils), hopefully he can get some actual NHL ice time and improve his game some.

Frankly, I don't give a crap about Pelley. Sestito is better than him, and neither one is anything more than a 4th liner. Fraser: meh. That jackass kept forcing Lou to give him 1-way contracts; I'm glad he's gone. We rid ourselves of 2 contracts and picked up Foster, who might make the team a bit better. We have the forward depth to cut someone like Janssen and carry 7 D, and use Foster exclusively on the PP if we want - hell, he'll probably get more playing time than Janssen if we only used him as a PP specialist. If our PP clicked a bit more, we'd have at least a couple more wins, so I like this move. We gave up garbage to hopefully help us in one facet of our game that is absolutely pathetic - the PP. No downside to this trade other than the loss of the 7th, who would probably never touch NHL ice anyway

Kurtis Foster. Sounds like an author. Or an actor.

Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello was waiting outside the BankAtlantic Center when newly-acquired defenseman Kurtis Foster arrived directly from the airport.

This is why I think Lou is one of the best managers in the league. He's great with the little detail stuff that makes people feel welcomed.
