Parise hopes they don't boo Langenbrunner. Seriously, I hope Jamie retires so that Zach won't go and sign wherever he's playing.

I just want them to play a solid 60 min. None of this collapse at the end of the game crap. I'm missing another game tonight but I've missed the last 4 for the most part and they've won so

Devilsfanatic

Potshots against Kovalchuk from Langenbrunner:

Langenbrunner on Parise succeeding him as captain: "I think any other choice would have been questionable."

Langenbrunner: "He’s a guy that you want to lead your team. He’s a guy you want on the ice all the time and a guy that going to compete."

Kovalchuk or Elias?

I think if the team can clear the puck around Hedberg and they can play a simple game that they have a good chance for at least one point tonight. Who knows with a team from the West though?

edit: Hedberg better not suck tonight. I don't want to see Frazee anywhere near the net.

Devilsfanatic

Kovy. The all the time comment with a guy that will compete. Doesn't think Kovy competes and is out on the ice all the time.

I hope Kovalchuk smacks him into oblivion tonight.

The blues are one of the few teams in the league where i wouldn't care if frazee, or kinkaid for that matter, played given how much they struggle to score even since hitch came aboard.

Jesus, the Blues are 22-3-4 at home. On the plus side they're only 9-11-3 on the road so we should win this one.

I really like the way his game is evolving. When he signed that monster contract all I could think is that he is going to have to learn other parts of the game because when he is in the tail end of his career he won't be able to rely on his speed and endurance as much. He is making that development to be the player I want him to be. Lemaire should be credited with all of it.

They didn't even really throw it away. The goal wasn't a dangerous play. Kinda lucky Berglund isn't called for a high stick. Otherwise it was a really good 3rd period protecting a one goal lead. The only thing I'd like to see change is the OT mentality. Need to be more aggressive there.

I thought they played great. Brodeur has me spoiled, Moose is horrendous at playing the puck comparatively. Excellent game. Also, the PP looked WAY worse without foster than with him. I hope we dress 7 d for the rest of the season and the playoffs.

As much as I hate to agree with anything positive about Foster, I do agree with this. However, it's hard to say if that's because Foster is that dangerous a weapon or because the guys who played in his place weren't used to it yet (or the other guys for that matter).

Sounds like I picked a good game to miss.

Actually it wasn't that bad. If I had to chose a loss to watch over again, it'd probably be this one.

As far as DeBoer's quote; if you're 6 3 D man ducks he's not 6 3 anymore. I don't understand what he's trying to prove there. It would have been better to say when the guys stick is above our 6 ft goalie, who is standing straight up, his stick is obviously above the 4ft crossbar.

Was our best third period in quite some time despite the goal which was questionable

Totally agree. They took the game to the Blues instead of sitting back in siege mode like against the Rangers. Just wish Henrique would have buried one of those chances he had.

Meh, that goal could have gone either way. Kovy's whiff on basically an empty net was the ace high kicker.
