theoretically speaking, if it had to happen, would you want zajac to center parise or kovi

Right now I think you have to stay with Henrique centering both until it is broken. With Elias, Zajac is now the 3rd line center. I love this center depth that we got from nowhere.

Kovy. Let Zacharias have his Adam.

Honestly, I'm happy with Zubrus centring the Devils' current "third line" with Pokohonsky and Bernier. I might consider moving Elias back to the left and having either Clarkson or Sykora on the RW. Leaving a 4th line consisting of three of Sykora/Clarkson, Josefson, Carter, Boulton, Palmieri, Janssen, etc.

Elias has expressed how he likes playing center and actually feels more comfortable there now.

That's all nice and well, but if I'm the coach and I like the big bodies on the "momentum line", my choices are either move Elias over or play Zajac on the 4th line.

I'd think that Zajac is a waste on the 4th line and that Patty is a team player and will do as he's told. Done deal.

Exactly, without it, forget playing C, Patty. Travis isn't bad at it at all.

i'd want zombie zajac centering the 4th line. he'd obviously be far too slow to keep up against the opposition's 1st line

As of the remainder of this season I don't see Zajac anywhere higher than the 3rd line. He just won't be up to speed and he won't have enough strength. Personally I think him playing on the 4th line will give us a lot more balance and make us a more dangerous team.

We can worry about everything else next season. Maybe we don't bring Sykora back and we have Zajac center Elias and someone else.

All our centers need to start winning faceoffs, NOW!

Zubrus is worse the Elias at them. Henrique is still below 50% and Josefson in the Elias/Zubrus territory. Zajac coming back with be a huge boost in the faceoff department.

I like Zajac on the 3rd line when he comes back. It lets us manage his minutes a bit while enabling him to play with skilled players so he can still be effective offensively. With him having Poni and Zubs on his wings that line will still be able to pack a ton of size. And Bernier dropping to the fourth line just gives us amazing depth.

Elias is a center now. C has been his position every year since 07-08 except for 08-09.

It's amazing how a couple of kids and a few reclamations turns a dying team into a team with amazing forward depth.

I think if Zajac is going to end up taking big faceoffs in big games, Elias has to go play LW. There's no other option. The reasoning for playing him at C was depth related. Well, now you have depth and not only that, Zach plays RW so the justification for him playing C is pretty much all gone.

One piece of their total inability to close out games is that they can't win faceoffs. I understand not wanting to **** with it, but it is what it is.

There is no issue with putting Zajac out for big draws but that doesn't mean you have to force him into the top 6 before he is physically ready for it.

Other than Kovy and Parise, our icetime is getting fairly even. The Montreal game was almost total even distribution except for the 4th liners. He doesn't have to play 20 minutes a night, I'd concentrate the efforts with him on 5 on 5 hockey and maybe the defensive zone starts on PKs.

I think its all about working him in without messing up any mojo. That might be tough to
Do.
