Bad pass by Fayne in the NZ, havoc, counter attack, fluky goal. Le sigh.

What a stupid play by Kovalchuk at the end of the period. It`s one thing to make a smart and simple play, trying to beat one or two defensemen, but trying to literally GO THROUGH four? Close to the blue line? Holy balls. Unnecessary to say at least.

Needed that after the bullshit day at work and the assholes at the Turnpike Authority putting up the Roadway Closed on the WRONG FUCKING ROAD today.

They sent everyone from who knows how far south up to at least Exit 10 onto the Cars Only lane - where there was an overturned vehicle near exit 13. Great fucking call guys.

What a weird day - I wasn't even going to go to the game til I 1) couldn't give my seats away and 2) work schedule for the night cleared up

you missed the overturned car at just north of 13 at like 5 something right when i was trying to get to newark. it was awesome for a bit, i got on the truck lanes at 8, smooth sailing till just before 13 when the electronic signs went all red accident ahead and i followed the trend and bailed to the car lanes in one of the crossovers that i happened to be passing. eveyrthing was great for another mile when they decided to shut down the whole fucking road for 30 minutes or something. we made the game with no problem, but man it was a pain in the *** getting there.

Wait so the accident was in the truck lanes?

I was on at like 5:30, Exit 10 had the "Roadway Closed" for trucks, so I had to take cars, within 2 miles it was a parking lot, yet the truck lane was smooth sailing, I jumped the median to the trucks lane, and got off at exit 12 - from 10 to 12, it took me almost an hour. My phone showed that it was red all the way on Cars from about 10 through 13, and on Trucks it started red just north of 12 or 13, and I could see the backup from the overpass

I'm guessing ******* rubberneckers just fucked up the cars lane

The funny thing about this game was that they utterly stunk when they weren't in the offensive zone. The second period was a Pavlov experiment, how many times can we try to skate it in before we realize it wasn't working.

But when they did get it in, they had solid possession. Weird.

Zach has been pissing me off with his ripping of the fans lately. If he signs long-term, I will forgive him, but for now, I want to falcon-punch him
I don't know how much it is ripping on the fans. I totally get what he's saying, because it's the truth. The games against the Rangers are the best energy wise because everyone is really into it. Games like last night must suck because the place is no where near full and there is no energy in the building from the people there.

I can't wait for the playoffs where the building is packed and everyone is full of energy. That is something Zach needs to see. He hasn't really been part of a Devils playoff run. That's when the fans get crazy and everyone starts chants as an arena. Last night there were chants but they were only in a section or an area of the building.

onefatsurfer
03-09-2012, 07:35
i know, but he could say "the more fans in the building the better" and "when this place gets filled out like at the big rivalry games, we feed off of our fans' excitement" instead of saying how quiet it is. encourage the fans to be loud and fill the place up, don't whine about them not being loud and not filling the place..

Big#D
03-09-2012, 07:39
i really hope the devils don't play the rangers or the flyers in the first round (or at all). i hate reading their douchy fans talking about 2nd arenas and such. worse, i hate hearing their fans chanting during a devils home game.

Looking at the goal scoring leaders, it's such a strange mix of players.

1. Stamkos
2. Malkin
3. Perry

OK, these are expected, especially Stammer who was almost destroyed by Melrose.

Then after that you've got:

4. Kessel
5. Gaborik (expected)
6. Hartnell
7. Michalek
8. Vrbata
9. Neal
10. Pacioretty
11. Eberle
12. Ryder
13. Kovalchuk
14. Spezza
15. Toews
16. Sedin
17. Moulson
18. Iginla
19. Marleau
20. Hossa

Ovechkin's not in there, and Crosby obviously, just a bunch of names that aren't usually there, it's odd. Clarkson's tied for that 20th spot with Ovie and Zach and Couture.

David Clarkson has as many goals as Ovechkin, Parise, Hossa, Iginla and Marleau. Now that's just utterly bizarre to look at.

Clarkson Falls Down
03-09-2012, 08:21

Devilsfanatic

Throw in Neal, and Hartnell. Both play with great players, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

Getzo5
03-09-2012, 09:41
Hartnell, Neal, Michalek, Ryder, Moulson. All those had the potential, but you`re right.

Playing with great linemates definitely has a lot to do with it.

One name (aside from Clarkson): Radeem Vrbata. Unexpected is an understatement.
