I'm hoping not. Crosby in the playoffs is a shot away from death.

****, Florida might really end up being the two seed, their schedule is cupcakes and Detriot. Boston has to go on a WC trip.

Dr. Doom
03-20-2012, 21:03
Yeah...we're fucked if we're in 6th. Florida would really have to **** up or Boston would have to play really well to keep their lead on Florida. Florida is only 2 points behind :scared:

But I guess you have to consider that Boston has a tough schedule and maybe the go into the playoffs slumping:dunno:

Clarkson Falls Down
03-20-2012, 21:23
Yeah, Florida's remaining schedule is as easy as I've ever seen on this Earth. I think Toronto could come out of that 7-3

Dr. Doom

Maybe our best bet is Ottawa overtaking Boston

Yeah, it looks like Boston in the 1st round :scared:

Looking at Ottawa's schedule compared to Boston's, they could do it, to be honest.

If on the last day, we need to lose to them to get them at seven, or at six, I say we do it. Tank that ****, they refused against Buffalo, don't make the same mistake twice in two years.

You know they would never throw a game just for a favorable match-up. They would say the classic "if you want to win it all you have to beat the best teams", which isn't always true.

It's very doubtful. BOS's up 3 points with 2 games in hand. If they split those, they are up 5 with 8 to play. That's a tough hill to climb for Ottawa.

Boston could go 3-7 the rest of the way. It's highly improbable, but possible.

Our best bet is Florida blowing it with probably the easiest possible remaining schedule in the NHL.

Devilsfanatic
03-20-2012, 21:58
Which they could. But I don't feel comfy against them. The East is pretty much decided but the seeding and WSH could lose eight to BUF, but that's it.

Dr. Doom
03-20-2012, 22:04
I feel way more comfortable against them than Boston. Boston just has way to big of a team and we can't handle their forecheck. I also don't want to see Chara vs. Zach in the playoffs. Also, we would have to probably count on Timmy crumbling.

guyincognito

Ottawa's not passing, I posted this on HF, I'll do everyone involved.

Max points:

1) Rangers 117
2) Boston 107
3) Florida 105
4) Pens 116
5) Flyers 110
6) Devils 105
7) Ottawa 100
8) Caps 98
9) Sabres 96
10) Jets 94

Ottawa is closer to 10th than they are to 2nd.

Ottawa could lose 7th to Washington and even possibly miss the playoffs if Buffalo got hot. It's not likely they miss but Washington has the tiebreaker and definitely could move up. This was a BIG loss for Ottawa tonight

I guess I'm taking this thread over, but also to prove how dumb your average HF poster is..... they're talking about how the Devils take away the neutral zone by basically giving you the outside and pinning you to the wall positionally.

Um, no, you guys just suck without Spezza, have you watched a Devils game this year? They can't defend **** anywhere on the ice. Teams will constantly skate in on them all game long.

Dr. Doom
03-20-2012, 22:19
What do you expect over there?

It's like the Edmonton fans telling me they have to take BPA in the draft this year and shouldn't think about filling their positional need at defense because they didn't draft Parise in 2003 and took Pouliot, even though both are centers.

I've noticed most fans are parrots and will just sprout whatever their commentators sell them.

I've noticed that for a while. This is why Rags fans, Boston fans, Penguins fans, and Flyers fans are so obnoxious. Their announcers are so bias that they just spew garbage on air.

Should have heard the Avalanche douchers today. Good fucking God. They are by far the worst. I couldn't imagine a Pittsburgh/Colorado final.

Yayo comparison to Brooks Orpik. Probably a joke but it's so dry that it's not funny, so you entertain it being serious.

I just watched the replay on Kovy's goal. Zidlicky is completely oblivious to the goal, not even raising his arms. His passing right before was pretty good.

They're a team that I feel very meh about playing. They don't scare me, but I also don't feel 100% confident we'd roll over them.

Congrats on admin status at HF buddy. And I agree with you. It'll be six or seven all one goal games mostly.

This is the first year of the playoffs in a long time where I think if the Devils lose in the first round, it has nothing to do with their not matching up well with the other team like Carolina or Philly in the past. If the Devils lose, it's because they aren't as good as the other team (Pens, Bruins and probably Rangers and Philly) or they just had shitty luck versus a team they could have beaten (Florida, Sens, Caps). There just aren't any teams that are at the same skill level as the Devils or worse that just match up really well against the Devils' weakness.

The Panthers are probably the team that comes closes to that.

i was actually going to asterisk my post with that, but forgot to do it before it hit the post button. oh well.

still the point stands. hopefully this'll be the first season in a long time where the devils don't get fucked over by a bad match up.
