I remember when he told the world with huge certainty exactly how things were done in Swedish schools. When I told him he was wrong, he came up with a snotty answer that I should prove it. Fucking ridiculous. Yeah, I spent 14 years, including university, in the Swedish school system, and he hasn't even been in the country. But he knows best, of course.

Yep, incase anyone didn't see it, these were the lines:

Parise - Henrique - Clarkson
Kovy - Zajac - Elias
Poni - Zubrus - Bernier
Sykora - Carter - Josefson

The first line is alright, but we got at least 3 guys playing out of position, natural centers playing wing with Zubrus down the middle when he's much better on the wing.

I personally don't want to split Parise and Kovy up but he says he's been calling for this for a year and a half. Parise missed basically the whole year. How can they be split up if he wasn't even playing last year?

If Pete is ever going to split up Kovy and Parise, keep Kovy on RW. People have really short term memories if they don't realize how much a better Devil Kovy has been at RW than LW.

If the Devils play the Rangers in the first round of the playoffs, I consider doing what I mentioned in the Rags GDT... playing Boulton-Carter-Janssen again in game 1 and let Torts pull that stunt again. When the puck drops, I lure the Rangers players into dropping the mitts and draw the penalty and try to start the game with a 5-on-3.

If you can play head games and start the series out on a positive, I'd almost say it's worth it. On the other hand a full game with that line might put the Devils in a hole.

I still think we strayed from our gameplan and didn't dump the puck in deep enough. This lead to a bunch of turnovers.

The problem with the Rags is if they get up on you they play that collapse defense and you basically need to get a bounce or do something really special.

It was fast, emotional, physically demanding. You have to be ready. Physically and mentally prepared. We weren`t. We came to play a typical road game against the team that doesn`t possess the puck much, but they came right at us and we couldn`t respond right away. It was a mess.

Yep, he was not exactly a prolific goal scorer in the dead puck era. Today he'd get sat on by a stay at home defenseman on a Julienball team and the goalie would easily swallow up his weak ****.

It's so hard to subjectively compare these guys because it's almost that they play a different sport. That's why Mario's 00-01 half season or so was so impressive.

The 92 points in 76 games?

How about Crosby's 131 over his last 82?

Gretzky was smart about his goals. None of his goals were like, whoa. He was just always right place, right time. They didn't have an answer for him, he'd show up and tap it into an empty net. Just look at goal 802 for a feel. The guy has more assists than anyone in the history of the sport has points hahaha.

I'll never forget Mario's first game back against the Leafs back in 01.

The one thing that I do like about the NBA playoff system is that division winners are guaranteed home court in the first round but do not have to be seeded 1, 2, 3. So hypothetically PIT would be the 2, BOS the 3, FLA the 4, etc.

It wouldn't help us, but it's sure going to be odd if a .500 team is the 2 seed.

That might be a workaround. Probably should just tier the teams into conferences. 4 games against everyone - 56 + 26 games against the other conference, 11 home and homes and 4 wild cards. It's less conference play than now, though, so it'd probably never happen.

They do have depth, they were just never healthy. They are getting these players back to 100% now. The Panthers play us hard, it's never an easy game against them for us. Truthfully I'd rather play the Flyers. I know I'm in the minority but whatever. The only two teams I don't want to play are the Broons and Pens and that obvious.

Pittsburgh vs. Washington

Hope that Pittsburgh and Washington have a long series and destroy each other. Hope the same thing goes for the Boston vs. Ottawa series and the New York vs. Philly series, since both are division match-ups.
