Ex-Duck Chipchura enjoying Coyotes’ playoff ride
The way his 2010-11 season went, Kyle Chipchura wasn’t surprised when the Ducks didn’t offer him a contract last June.
It wasn’t a surprise that there weren’t a plethora of offers for his services once he became a free agent. Chipchura wound up signing a two-way deal with Phoenix worth a little over the NHL minimum over the summer but even that wasn’t any kind of guarantee for a long-term future with the Coyotes.
But there was Chipchura taking part in the morning skate Thursday at Staples Center, preparing himself for Game 3 of the Western Conference finals against the Kings. The fourth-line center has been in every playoff game for the Coyotes since he sat out Game 1 of the first round against Chicago.
