Kenton Helgesen has become the first Grande Peace Athletic Club alumnus
to ever be drafted into the National Hockey League.
The 18-year-old Fairview defenceman was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the seventh round of the National Hockey League entry draft, 187th overall.
Helgesen played for the GPAC’s bantam AAA Storm in 2008-2009, the Alberta Midget Hockey League (midget AAA) Storm the following season, and the Alberta Junior Hockey League Storm in 2010-2011.
