TRADE: Fabian Brunnstrom traded from Dallas to Toronto for Mikhail Stefanovich
TORONTO: Brunnstrom came into the NHL will a lot of hype however he has been unable to stick in the NHL with the Stars. In 2008 several NHL teams including the Toronto Maple Leafs were pursuing Brunnstrom but in the end he picked Dallas. Brunnstrom is loaded with offensive talent but has been inconsistent so playing for a new team may be just what he needs. Brunnstrom scored 17 goals and 29 points in 55 games two seasons ago with the Stars and he currently has 11 goals and 21 points in 37 AHL games. Brunnstrom will get a clean start in Toronto and will be given a lot of opportunity to show what he can do as the Leafs need offense. Brunnstrom has the potential to be a 30-goal and 70-point player in the NHL.
DALLAS: The Stars get a project prospect in Stefanovich. Stefanovich is a 6-2, 200 pound goal scorer. He can play right wing or center and has a nasty side to his game. Power forwards always take longer to develop so donít expect too much. He came over to North America and played in the QMJHL for three seasons; his best season was in 2008-2009 when he scored 49 goals and 76 points in 56 QMJHL games. Currently he is playing for Dynamo Minsk in the KHL where he only has one goal in 16 games. On a fantasy note he is a dark horse to be a scoring power forward in the NHL but it will take several years.
