Free Agency
Every summer there is a free agency feeding frenzy in the NHL where GM's get a little crazy and throw insane amounts of money around. Well were less than four weeks away from said frenzy and our friend Chris Wassel gets us primed in his article Fantasy Hockey Potpourri: The UFA Frenzy Dilemmas over at Hockey Writers. Wassel looks at the most probable scenarios and outcomes of Zach Parise, Ryan Suter, Alex Semin, Ray Whitney, and Dustin Penner.
Calder Cup Finals
The Marlies and Admirals went scoreless through three periods in game three. The Marlies got their hearts broken as a fluke goal gave the Admirals a 3-0 series lead. Could that bit of rotten luck be a catalyst for the Marlies giving them some extra inspiration, or will it crush their spirits?
Avalanche Re-Signings
The Av's have resigned two players. Matt Hunwick has signed on for two more years, while David Jones has renewed for four. Jones has such a history of injury that he is well under many fantasy GM's radar. Should Jones be able to play a full season however he would quickly start gathering serious attention as he has 60-70 point potential. Jones had a 27 goal season back in '10-'11 remember.
