The Detroit Red Wing have re-signed center Darren Helm to a four-year contract.
Helm is one of my favorite players to watch, he gives it 110% every time he is on the ice. He has great speed and is a very strong two-way player. He will never be a top offensive player but I see a lot of Kris Draper or Kirk Maltby in him. Helm is the kind of player every championship team needs.
Helm is a very strong fantasy player in pools that are very deep, ones that require a third line. Last season he missed time due to a groin and knee injury before suffering a forearm injury on his sixth shift of his first game back in the playoffs. He scored nine goals and 26 points last season in 68 games.
Don’t get caught drafting a player higher then he should because he is a personal favorite, Helm should only be in deep pools. He is a two-way player, whose career potential is 20 goals and 45 points, draft accordingly.
