The Minnesota Wild have re-signed backup goaltender Josh Harding to a three-year contract worth a reported $5.7 million.
The annual average value of Harding's deal works out to $1.9 million. With Niklas Backstrom aging, it is likely that Harding will see more time in the crease this season for the Wild.
In terms of fantasy value, I wouldn't recommend owning Harding in anything other than a deep keeper league. He likely won't get enough starts to warrant keeping in your starting lineup for any length of time. Give it a few years as age starts to catch up to Backstrom and we could be having a different conversation.
