    Day 2 at the Draft
Here are a few great picks in the second round of the NHL Draft:
    - Martin Frk by Detroit Red Wings 49th overall sidelined by an injury but still put up 16 goals and 29 points in 34 QMJHL games.
    - Dalton Thrower by Montreal Canadians 51st overall 18 goals and 54 points in 66 WHL games.
    - Jordan Martinook by Phoenix Coyotes 58th overall scored 40 goals in the WHL.
    - Tim Bozon by Montreal 64th overall scored 36 goals and 71 points in 71 WHL games.
    - Troy Bourke by Colorado Avalanche 72nd overall Was top scorer on a young Prince George team, watch for breakout in WHL next season.

Be sure to check out our Prospects Guide, due to be released July 10, which will have more in depth coverage of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

    Brian Burke
Does he think hockey fans are idiots? What a ridiculous statement to make regarding the Toronto Maple Leafs selection of Morgan Rielly. Here is his statement:
"We had this kid rated one," Burke said boldly of Toronto's first selection. "Wouldn't say that if it wasn't true just to build up the pick, but this is a guy [that] had we had the first pick in the draft we would've taken him.

Rielly is a tremendous, offensively gifted defenceman who could one day be a similar player to Kris Letang but to say he would have taken him first overall is retarded. No way anyone takes Rielly over Nail Yakopuv! I am a Burke fan but statements like that make absolutely no sense. Source: http://www.tsn.ca/toronto/blogs/jonas_siegel/?id=399038

    Jonas Gustavsson Done in Toronto
Burke traded the rights to Gustavsson to the Winnipeg Jets for a draft pick. Is this the first step in trading for Tim Thomas or Roberto Luongo?

    Jordan Staal centering Eric Staal
Listening to the NHL channel on XM last night and it sounds like the Carolina Hurricanes are going to try the Staal brothers on the same line. If your hockey pool has positional requirements looks like Eric will be shifted to the left side. He played there during the 2010 Olympics and excelled there so expected the Canes to at least try this line to start the season.

    Draft Winner
As it stands now I think the draft winner has to be the Canadiens. Getting Alex Galchenyuk, Sebastian Collberg, Thrower, and Bozon with their first four picks. Runner up the Buffalo Sabres who got a steal with Mikhail Grigorenko dropping down to 12th overall and then making the trade to move up to 14th to draft Zemgus Girgensons.
