The Anaheim Ducks have signed right wing prospect, Rickard Rakell to a 3 year entry level contract. At the NHL level the contract is worth $925,000 with an upfront signing bonus of $92,500 at the AHL level the contract will pay $70,000.
Rakell was picked by Anaheim as the last pick in the first round, 30th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. In this past season with the Plymouth Whalers, Rakell notched 62 points (28 goals and 34 assists). At 19 years of age, 2011-12 was the 6'4", 194 lb. Swede's second season in the OHL.
