Defenseman, Matt Smaby has been re-signed by the Anaheim Ducks to a one year, two way contract. At the AHL level Smaby will be paid $105,000 with him making $650,000 for NHL play.
Smaby spent over 3 months of last season recovering from a thumb injury which he suffered during the preseason with the Ducks. In 30 games with the Syracuse Crunch in 2011-12, he had +12 rating with 46 PIM, 2 goals and 7 assists.
