The Minnesota Wild have signed both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter to 13 year $98 million deals averaging out to $7.5+ each per season.
Let the fallout begin as remaining free agents such as Alex Semin and Matt Carle may now begin to receive offers.
Ryan Suter will experience a fantasy value boost similar to what Brian Campbell had in moving to Florida as he becomes the undisputed number one defender and will quarterback the power play.
Ryan Ellis will also see top power play time on the Nashville power play filling Suters spot with Shea Weber and Ellis may have a fantasy breakout season with strong offensive numbers.
Dany Heatley will also have a fantasy value boost as he will play with quality line mates in Parise, Koivu, Setoguchi, Grandlund and Coyle.
The trade market may also heat up now as suitors who missed out on Parise and Suter will now turn to the likes of Rick Nash, Bobby Ryan, Keith Yandle, and Jay Bouwmeester.
The loss of Ryan Suter may also have an impact on RFA Shea Weber and rather or not he intends to stay in Nashville or not. Weber wants to win, and the loss of Suter and Radulov hurt Nashville's chances. Weber is also bitter from his arbitration process from last summer. Nashville currently has the lowest payroll in the NHL so offering Weber top money will not be a challenge.
