The Winnipeg Jets have signed free agent backup goaltender Al Montoya to a one-year contract worth $601,000.
Montoya was a part of the New York Islanders goaltending carousel in 2011-12. In 31 games, he posted a 9-11-5 record with a 3.10 GAA and .893 SP.
With Ondrej Pavelec locked into the starting position in Winnipeg, Montoya should not be looked at for major fantasy production.
