Bounty of Restricted Free Agents Waiting
As outlined in yesterdays Press Box the unrestricted free agent crop has been picked pretty clean. That is not the case with the restricted free agents however as several prominent players remain without contract.
No doubt the current CBA negotiations have a major role in this, but given the Flyers made an attempt to sign Shea Weber as a RFA are teams taking a risk?

Here is the top ten remaining forward free agents still in play.

    1. Jamie Benn, Dallas - Could be set for a Claude Giroux size breakout
    2. Evander Kane, Winnipeg - Jets offered $29 million over six years, still waiting.
    3. Tyler Ennis, Buffalo - Set to become Sabres second line center.
    4. Ryan O'Reilly, Colorado - Out played Duchene last year, will he out pay him this?
    5. Eric Tangadi, Pittsburgh - Could quickly evolve into top six power forward on Pens.
    6. Justin Abdelkadar, Detroit - A lock on the fourth line.
    7. Nicklas Bergfors, Nashville - Cleared waivers, NHL future now in doubt.
    8. Linus Omark, Edmonton - Youtube sensation, not so sensational in NHL
    9. Zach Stortini, Nashville - Tough guy NHL future on the ropes.
    10. James Sheppard, San Jose - Former top prospect long shot for NHL job now. Bust?
Honorable mention to Max Mayorov(Blue Jackets), Jamie Arniel (Bruins), Jay Rosehill(Leafs), Luca Caputti(Ducks), and Nick Palmieri (Wild)

Top ten remaining defense restricted free agents still in play

    1. P.K. Subban, Montreal - in negotiations and Habs just signed Pacioretty, any day now.
    2. John Carlson, Washington - Potential to become Caps best all around D-man
    3. Michael Del Zotto, Rangers - Is the offensive leader on Rangers back end
    4. Dmitry Kulikov, Florida - With Gudbranson, they will anchor Panthers D for next decade.
    5. Jonathon Blum, Nashville - Made Cody Franson expendable, working towards top four.
    6. Cody Franson, Toronto - Schenn trade opens door to get out of press box in Toronto.
    7. Teemu Laakso, Nashville - Not in top six, but first in line when injury arises.
    8. Ryan Parent, Vancouver - Stock has fallen faster than RIM! NHL future uncertain.
    9. Kyle Cumiskey, Anaheim - Signed 1 year with MODO in Sweden. NHL career over?
    10. Nick Petrecki, San Jose - Defensive Dman with NHL future, but no fantasy value.
