Blues' Pietrangelo to go under the knife

St. Louis Blues defenseman, Alex Pietrangelo is set to have minor surgery to repair a lower body injury. It has not been released as to whether the surgery relates to the sprained knee he suffered in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals after being hit into the boards by the LA Kings' Dwight King.

The 22 year old Pietrangelo, who appeared in 81 regular season games in 2011-12 putting up 12 goals with a total of 51 points, is expected to be ready for the scheduled start of training camp on September 15th, 2012.
