The Calgary Flames over the past several years have been a veteran team with playoff aspirations in mind. Unfortunately they have failed to qualify for the post season for the last three seasons. With a veteran roster that is fifth highest paid in the league and a bare prospect cupboard, it is time to burn the current franchise down, and build it back up again.

What should they do?
It’s almost an embarrassment of riches these days for the Edmonton Oilers, but now the trick will be what to do with the pieces they have to ensure it translates onto the ice for next season.
Edmonton has three future perennial all-stars on their top line already with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle and a large group of young forwards and solid veterans behind them to fill out a pretty strong forward corps.
