Week 16 is loaded with games only the Vancouver Canucks play twice everyone else plays three or more. 13 teams play four games this week and the Boston Bruins play five games. This is the week that records could be set for weekly fantasy point totals.
The Calgary Flames and Montreal Canadiens gave hockey fans a little preview of the NHL trade deadline. Mike Cammalleri, Karri Ramo and a fifth-round draft pick in 2012 traded from Montreal to Calgary for Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland and second-round draft pick in 2013.
Cammalleri heads back to Calgary where he had his career season of 39 goals and 82 points. Cammalleri needed a change of scenery and going back to where he had success should get his season back on track.
Bourque is coming off three straight seasons of 20+ goals, including back-to-back 27 goal seasons. Bourque is on pace for 26 goals, which would be his fourth straight of 20+ goals. Bourque will play his first game as a Canadien on Sunday, January 15 as his five game suspension will be over.
Montreal won this trade as Bourque will give the Canadiens similar goal scoring they had in Cammalleri but he also brings size, something they were missing. On top of Bourque Montreal got a solid prospect in Patrick Holland who is on pace for a career year in the WHL with the Tri-City Americans.
