    Eastern Conference Finals

New York Rangers and New jersey Devils game six is Friday night in Jersey and it's a must win for the Rangers. Hmmm....this sounds familiar. It was 18 years ago when Mark Messier found his Rangers team in the exact same situation, and Messier made himself a legend by guaranteeing a Ranger win. Then he scored a hat-trick to deliver on his promise.

While there are no Ranger guarantees today a Ranger win will force a game seven, and a Devils win will secure them a surprising birth in the Stanley Cup Finals with the Kings. The Hockey Writers Michael Rapport has Why the New York Rangers Will Win Game 6

If the Devils go all the way and win it all, it is very possible that we could see [B]Zach Parise[B] Raise the Stamley Cup over his head and a few short months later be wearing a different Jersey, say a Red Wings, or Wild, or even a Rangers jersey! Would Ranger fans embrace him after this series?

    Memorial Cup

The host city Shawinigan has defeated the Edmonton Oil Kings and advanced to the Semi finals where they will play St. Johns. It was a convincing 6-1 victory and the Cataractes had six different goal scorers.

    Calder Cup

The Norfolk Admirals (Tampa bay affiliate) have swept the St Johns Ice Caps and await the winner of the Toronto Marlies or the Oklahoma City Barons. The Marlies won the last game 3-0 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. The Marlies could advance to the Calder Cup finals with a win Friday night. Toronto and Norfolk were involved in a deal earlier this season swapping Carter Ashton and Keith Aulie. Both players have been factors for their new teams, but Ashton is out with a concussion.

    Tampa Bay Lightning

GM Steve Yzerman Addresses Lightning Goaltending and Other Notes Yzerman said the team needs to improve in goal, but the elite goalie they are seeking will come via draft, or as a UFA. That would suggest that he is not considering Roberto Luongo as a top option at this time. Potential targets could include Kings Jonathan Bernier, or Nashvilles Anders Lindback. Given the success that Norfolk is having in the AHL playoffs, perhaps the answer in goal lies in Dustin Tokarski. If Yzerman looks to the draft his best options would be P.K. Subbans brother Malcolm Subban, or Russias Andrei Vasilevski. Both players will need more time before they are ready for the NHL and are not immediate solutions like Tokarski could be.

    Trade Rumors

The 2012 Summer Goalie Market is rich, and full of available players either as free agents or potentially via trade including Roberto Luongo, Tim Thomas, Tomas Vokoun, Miikka Kiprusoff and Jonathan Bernier. There are several teams in desperate need of help in goal as well with teams such as Tampa Bay Lightning, the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the New York Islanders and the Chicago Blackhawks Fred Poulin of the Hockey Writers has an in depth analysis of who is available, and predictions as to who goes where. Mario Lemieux. came into the NHL as a well know future super star. But as anticipated as the start of his career was, nobody expected it to begin as suddenly as it did. In his first NHL game, on his first NHL shift he scored his first NHL goal on his first shot. FHC's stats guru Coach Perry has a great article on 2011-12 Perfect Seasons - Shooting Percentage-wise
