I really dunno why they took the goalie unless the Ducks are rubbing up on the limit too. The true value in getting rid of them is opening a reserve spot.
They're going to have a hard time getting the goalie ice-time too. That's what makes it silly

We will find out short enough. I think the Greene injury really accelerated this. They clearly don't think Taormina is the solution.
Well, the two bombers on the point didn't work with Kovalchuk and Rolston, lets hope it works the 2nd time around.
Still think we need a distributor, but this can't hurt to try it out for the time being.
Patty should be/is the distributor on the PP
I like it..seems very low risk high reward. If it works great if not who cares. We gave nothing.
... Interesting...
Wow he's a big dude:
"Lamoriello believes the 6-foot-5, 226-pound Carp, Ontario native can help the Devils’ struggling power play with his right-handed shot on the point."
Makes me realize what an awfully fat **** I've become - he's got 3 inches on me and I've got 25 pounds on him. FFS.
I like the move though - something useful for essentially nothing. If Foster can help turn our PP from 1 of 50 to 1 of 40 it'll be worth it. :D
Lou seems to think they'll get some playing time with Anaheim, I hope so - I like Pelley's grit and he's a great guy off the ice (met him a few times one is definitely one of the more personable Devils), hopefully he can get some actual NHL ice time and improve his game some.
Frankly, I don't give a crap about Pelley. Sestito is better than him, and neither one is anything more than a 4th liner. Fraser: meh. That jackass kept forcing Lou to give him 1-way contracts; I'm glad he's gone. We rid ourselves of 2 contracts and picked up Foster, who might make the team a bit better. We have the forward depth to cut someone like Janssen and carry 7 D, and use Foster exclusively on the PP if we want - hell, he'll probably get more playing time than Janssen if we only used him as a PP specialist. If our PP clicked a bit more, we'd have at least a couple more wins, so I like this move. We gave up garbage to hopefully help us in one facet of our game that is absolutely pathetic - the PP. No downside to this trade other than the loss of the 7th, who would probably never touch NHL ice anyway
