They're a team that I feel very meh about playing. They don't scare me, but I also don't feel 100% confident we'd roll over them.

My parents have extra miles on Spirit that they never use, if the Devils draw the Cats I may have to give the rents a call and yoink those miles and go to Game 1 or 2.
that's a pretty good idea. maybe selyar and i will come with you
This is the first year of the playoffs in a long time where I think if the Devils lose in the first round, it has nothing to do with their not matching up well with the other team like Carolina or Philly in the past. If the Devils lose, it's because they aren't as good as the other team (Pens, Bruins and probably Rangers and Philly) or they just had shitty luck versus a team they could have beaten (Florida, Sens, Caps). There just aren't any teams that are at the same skill level as the Devils or worse that just match up really well against the Devils' weakness.
The Panthers are probably the team that comes closes to that.
we weren't as good as the Rangers when we played them last.
i was actually going to asterisk my post with that, but forgot to do it before it hit the post button. oh well.
still the point stands. hopefully this'll be the first season in a long time where the devils don't get fucked over by a bad match up.
just in case.
