Crunch rookie center Vladdy Namestnikov sidelined with shoulder injury
Syracuse Crunch center Vladdy Namestnikov will get an unwanted rest early in his rookie season.
Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois said on Friday that Namestnikov will miss 4 to 6 weeks because of a shoulder injury suffered when Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's Joe Morrow slammed him into the boards in the first period of a game on Sunday.
"It's a tough situation for Vladdy,'' Syracuse coach Jon Cooper said. "He's a rookie, one of our prized prospects. He came in here looking to make a splash, which he did. His upside is limitless. It's tough to see him lose part of his first year pro.''
