Ducks send Fasth to AHL for game action
In a bit of a surprise move, the Ducks assigned goaltender Viktor Fasth to Norfolk of the American Hockey League on Monday in order to get him some game action this week.
The Ducks won a battle to sign the 30-year-old netminder and bring him to North America as the potential backup to Jonas Hiller. Fasth has not played in a game since November because of hip and groin issues and the club believes he’ll be better off by playing for Norfolk on Tuesday night against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
