This is the part everyone overlooks about the Kessel deal. They didn't even lock him up. Hell be a UFA before they get good.

Two trades set the Leafs backs a decade. Trading away their first round pick in 2003 for Owen Nolan, and the Kessel trade.

Thankfully Burke has been able to rob the ducks blind, not to mention he ripped off the bruins in that Kaberle deal last year. he needs to make a big splash this year.

I just add the Kaberle deal in the overall frame of the Kessel deal to make Leaf fans look dumb

The Kaberle deal makes the Leafs look better, although still not great, in that deal.
