Merrill looked OK when he was out there...he had some bad luck with a puck going off his skate and in...but he didn't get a lot of ice. I haven't seen the actual minutes but I'd guess he was in the 12 minute range.

I can't believe how sloppy team USA looks in this Czech game. Not very indictive of a Blais team. I think that Finland game really rattled their confidence.
Merrill didn't look too good on that 2 on 1 that the Czechs scored on.

His partner blew the coverage and left him hanging with a 2 on 1 in front of the net. Merrill went right to the middle of the net and his partner should have been down low to cover the shooter and he was nowhere to found. But they have been blowing coverages all game, their breakout has been terrible and they can't complete a pass which has lead to a ton off turnovers. I think they are gripping there sticks a little too tight knowing that this is a must win so early in the tourney.
I wasn't blaming him. It was far from his fault. I was just hoping he would have made a better play. He did he job which was to cover the pass and let the goalie take the shot. Campbell really blew it on the rebound, the puck was under his pad.
Merrill just got an assist on the 2nd USA goal.
