Today has been such an awesome day. All of my friends are texting me pics of fish they caught. I'm telling you people, you've got to try this sport. The learning curve is a little steep, but once it clicks it is like the heavens opening up and passing you a note that contains the secrets to life. It is that magical!

Wonder if anybody knows this: I'm preparing tax papers for my accountant. Let's say I make a purchase with a credit card in December 2010, but the actual payment to the credit card is made in January 2011. Does this go into expense column in 2011 or not? I can never remember this.

My wife just pointed out that about 1/3 of our friends are gay and I shouldn't say things like that. Everything I say is somehow inappropriate?

She is right, though. I have used that word in a derogatory way before I realized a gay guy was among us, and he looked pretty sad. I felt like crap.

I did that once, except that the person was a close relative of mine and they called me on it.

"You know, weak. Like a pansy. I thought you'd be able get it."

I figure that if you don't want to hear the answer, you shouldn't ask the question.
