If anything, team play, collective and all that is about never cheating on the play for the next guy on your team. Parise never cheats, Elias neither. Fayne, Salvador, Green etc. Great collective guys, actually. We got scored on because people make individual mistakes. None of those has been Parise. Way too many have been Volchenkov. Those things won't go away because some captain starts hell in the locker room. People want to believe it is that easy, but some locker room speeches won't make dumb players smarter.
Losing Parise would be devastating. If he doesn't make that typical Parise backcheck right before the OT goal, which comes from his monster work ethic, there is no OT goal.
