Finnish forward Teuvo Teravainen has experienced a slow, steady climb up the 2012 draft prospect charts, to the point where the Helsinki, Finland native is considered a legitimate top 10 selection for the coming NHL Draft.
As a point of reference, in the ISS rankings back in October of 2011, ISS's first release for the 2011-12 season, Teravainen sat in the 54th position. In that scouting organization's latest rankings in May, Teravainen is among the top players available for the 2012 NHL Draft by virtue of his being ranked 8th overall.
But Teravainen's rise isn't necessarily a fluky one, however, as he turned in good performances in international play during the 2010-11 season. Teravainen continued his strong international play this season, including a good offensive showing at the 2012 Under-18 World Junior Championship where he scored two goals and added six assists for eight points in six tournament games.
