By the midway mark of last season, it became clear that Henrik Samuelsson's style didn't suit the game being played in Sweden.
The 18-year-old right winger was born in Pittsburgh. He grew up in Scottsdale. The foundation of his hockey career was born in the local P.F. Chang's midget league and refined during his time with the U.S. National program.
His physical approach, heavy shot and affinity for traffic was out of place on the bigger ice surfaces in Europe. So in January, he left MoDo -- which is coached by his dad and former Coyotes associate coach, Ulf -- and joined the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League.
