The Washington Capitals have re-signed center Mike Carman to a one year extension, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Carman, 24, collected 18 points (10 goals, eight assists) in 60 games last season with Hershey and Lake Erie of the American Hockey League (AHL). He was acquired from Colorado for defenseman Danny Richmond on Feb. 2, 2012, and posted one goal in five postseason games with the Hershey Bears.
