For more than 16 minutes Wednesday, Predators general manager David Poile rambled during a teleconference.

He sounded like a patient on a psychiatrist’s couch, venting and unloading as he tried to explain to reporters why former Predators defenseman Ryan Suter decided to sign with the Minnesota Wild.

“I was looking at all my notes (Tuesday) on stuff, and Ryan had said, when we had a meeting in November with (his agent) Neil Sheehy, he said at the time that he’s not going anywhere else. He’s signing with the Nashville Predators,” Poile said. “It’s a quote.”
