TORONTO – The Toronto Maple Leafs have been pretty quiet so far since the opening day of the free agent frenzy, which began on July 1st. The Leafs only landed one center and re-sign multiple Leaf/Marlie players but the Leafs are not even close to being done. They still need to work on their center problems, their net situation and the defense situation.

So with big name free agents like Zach Parise, Matrin Brodeur, Ryan Sutter etc… off the market now, there really isn’t anyone left that the Leafs can sign who will help the team out. But only one name came to my mind. And that was Peter Mueller.

Peter Mueller had an amazing rookie season back in 2007-2008 with the Phoenix Coyotes; he scored 22 goals, which earned him 58 points in 81 games.

Since his fantastic rookie season Mueller has had a big drop in point production and overall gameplay. The reason behind the lack of point production is Mueller was linked to concussions and other health related issues, as a result to the health issues Mueller isn’t performing to standards and playing the hockey he should be as he was

the eighth overall pick back in 2006.
