My most anticipated WHL player debut for the upcoming season will be 16 year old German scoring star Leon Draisaitl. This kid has all the makings of a star. He absolutely dominated his German junior leagues, and showed great point progression each year.
So what, you might say, as the junior leagues in Germany aren't filled with great talent. True, but whenever Draisaitl played in a major international tournament, he was always a point a game or better against the best junior players of his age group in the world, and that is while playing on weak german teams with little or no support (and while getting all the attention from the opposition).
I will go out on a limb to say that this kid will be an NHL scoring star one day, maybe even a borderline Hall of Fame talent.
