Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier met with the media before the Sabres’ Blue-Gold scrimmage at development camp Thursday evening and was asked about Derek Roy’s trade and the decision by the Stars to have surgery on his shoulder.
“I’m very confident in the decision by our medical staff,” Regier told the Niagara Gazette of Buffalo’s decision to forego surgery. “He played with it last year and he could have played with it again this year. It was a decision by the Dallas Stars. It’s as simple as that. We were very comfortable with his situation.”
