I was surprised that no NHL team took a chance on Austin Cangelosi at the draft. With a dearth of high-end talent avaiable at forward, here's a guy who lives and breathes offense. Sure, he's small, but small players have been getting more of chance to play in the NHL, and I think he's got the skill to play there too, one day.
He's put up excellent numbers in both high school and in the USHL, and I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing what he can do in the NCAA this coming season.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up with about 10-15 goals and 20-30 points in his rookie season, or better. If he can do that or better, I would feel pretty confident to saying that he could be another Nathan Gerbe or better.
