The Winnipeg Jets position on booze was established long ago, before the NHL even returned to the city.

In the spring of 2007, Craig Heisinger, then GM of the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, now Jets assistant GM, made that as clear as spring water in the wake of the drunk driving death of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Josh Hancock.

"We don't allow alcohol in the dressing room or the players' wives lounge, at all," Heisinger told Sun Media at the time. "Never have, never will. After the Dany Heatley incident it was taken away. I don't have any use for it. I don't think it's part of sports. It always leads to problems."
