The Rangers agreed to terms with restricted free agent defenceman Anton Stralman on Thursday to avoid arbitration.

The 25-year-old Swede will celebrate his 26th birthday on Wednesday. He scored 18 points in 53 regular season games, and added six points in 20 playoff games.

Stralman was a seventh round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2005 draft. He will make $1.6 million in the first year of the deal and $1.8 million in the second.
