There might not be a player on the Star whose season has as many potential outcomes as Brenden Morrow.
True, there are always performance swings in 40-year-olds like Jaromir Jagr and Ray Whitney. And yes, young players such as Philip Larsen and Cody Eakin are very unpredictable. But Morrow could be traded before the season ever starts or could end up leading a good team on a long playoff run _ and there really seems to be no clear indication just which path he might take.
The fact that Morrow is the captain of this team and ranks sixth all-time in Stars franchise history in games played at 806 puts him in a category nearing icon status. He has presided over a fairly mundane period in his leadership stretch, but he has nonetheless been the leader of the team since 2006. So does that affect how the Stars look at him?
