The possible lack of NHL games this October has some Jets fans questioning whether the Manitoba Moose — now the St. John’s IceCaps — could return to MTS Centre to fill the gap, at least for a few exhibition games.

“I’m sure we’d be very well received, but there’s no plans yet,” said IceCaps spokesman Don Power.

“I know the IceCaps have a huge fan base in Winnipeg. They’re fervent hockey fans there as well, and they’ve followed the IceCaps season as well as the Jets,” Power said.
