Sharks captain Joe Thornton isn't making plans for the possibility of an NHL lockout quite yet. At least, he's not admitting it.
Thornton's agent on Thursday denied a report that the forward has agreed to play for Swiss club HC Davos in case of a work stoppage in the NHL. That report originated from the Swiss newspaper Die Südostschweiz, which quoted HC Davos club president Gaudenzi Domenig as saying Thornton and Rick Nash had both agreed to return to the club with whom they played during the last NHL lockout, in 2004-05.
"Hasn't even crossed his mind to play anywhere other than S.J.," Thornton's agent and brother, John Thornton, said Thursday. "He was in Davos training and skating with HC Davos this past month, but that has been his summer routine since he played for them the 2004-05 season."
