Predators’ players use the word “informed” a lot when asked about the collective bargaining agreement negotiations between the NHL and the NHL Players’ Association.
Simply, they think it’s paramount to know the ins and outs of the talks between the two entities. That’s why 12-13 Predators are planning to go to New York for the union’s executive board meeting on Wednesday and Thursday.
The current CBA is set to expire on Saturday. If the NHL and the union don’t come to an agreement by that date, the owners will lock out the players. It will be the third lockout in NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman’s tenure.
