On September 21st, goaltender John Gibson and his team the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League played their season opener against the Mississauga Steelheads. Gibson earned his first shutout of the season as Kitchener bested the Mississauga Steelheads 3-0 in front of the Steelheads’ home crowd. Gibson managed 25 saves in the Rangers’ victory, earning Gibson his 2nd OHL career shutout. The Rangers out-shot their opponents 32-25. Gibson was awarded the first start of the game for his impressive effort.
