When the Philadelphia Flyers and GM Paul Holmgren acquired Wayne Simmonds last off season, many fans did not know the type of player that they were going to get. Well, after a very successful debut for the Flyers, Simmonds is making his encore performance in Germany.
Simmonds signed with ETC Crimmitschau, which is a team in Germany’s second division of professional hockey. Simmonds decided to sign to play in Germany in order to play with his NHL buddy, Chris Stewart of the St. Louis Blues. Stewart and Simmonds grew up in the same neighborhood in Toronto. They both are also represented by the same agent, Eustace King.
