Syracuse Crunch goalie Dustin Tokarski buckled on his game face Thursday afternoon more than 24 hours before he might even need it.
Tokarski was by far the last player off the practice rink at the War Memorial. After initially leaving the ice he returned for a little more shadow goaltending, plopping down to face imaginary shooters long after the nets were removed and forcefully fidgeting with his gear.
When pressed about his routine, though, Tokarski went into the lockdown mode of a netminder in the middle of a shootout. The Rochester Amerks are out there awaiting the Crunch in Friday's season opener, and Tokarski wasn’t about to share any details that might pad their scouting report.
