During the NHL lockout, it has been quite common for players to find the in leagues overseas.
What isn’t common is finding two different jobs overseas. However, that’s what Philadelphia Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds and St. Louis Blues star Chris Stewart are planning on doing.
The two life long friends signed with Eispiraten Crimmitschau of the German 2nd Bundesliga on Sept. 24, hoping to play together as the NHL and the NHLPA worked on a Collective Bargaining Agreement. Simmonds and Stewart made their debut with the club on Sept. 28, with Stewart tallying and assist in a 2-1 win over Lausitzer Füchse.
